Joseph S Joyce has been active in the electronic music scene for a number of years, releasing on various underground labels, under different guises. His early career centered around London’s pirate radio scene, emanating in a string of club appearances at classic UK venues like Ministry of Sound, Scala, Bagley’s and Labyrinth.

In 2013 he founded the British record label Default Position, which has since gained a reputation for promoting emotive forms of electronic music while fostering emerging talent. Joyce's music has appeared on labels such as Cocoon, fabric, Wiggle and Underbelly. His work has been remixed by the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Terry Francis, Sebastian Mullaert and many more.

By day, Joyce works for the music software company Ableton.

Joseph S Joyce´s first appearance on the label is a remix of “Untouchable”, the title track of the collab EP between Andrey Sirotkin and Pyrame, released in September 2024.
